Overview

Creating a Commitment agreement is similar to creating a Prime Contract in Pegasus. At this time, Commitment agreements do not support line item costing breakdowns. The total contract amount is the only financial information required in order to create a Commitment.

Create a Commitment

Navigate to the Contracts page in your project and select the Commitments tab.

Select the Create button. From the create Commitment side menu enter the following information:

  • Commitment Number: A purchase order number or contract number identifying the agreement

  • Company: The name of the company or entity involved in the agreement.

  • Title: Use a title or descriptor to easily identify the commitment. Examples: Project Management agreement, Materials: Fiber, Construction Engineering Costs.

  • Contract Total: The total contract amount of the agreement.

Select the Save button. You can also select the Save and New button to quickly add additional commitments. Once Commitments have been added you can view Change Order information related to a specific Commitment as well as payment information including the invoiced total, percent paid, and remaining balance from the Commitment tab.

Remember, Prime Contracts + Commitments = Project Budget. Once commitments have been added your project's card on the My Projects page will be updated with new budgeted amount. You can also view the entire budget from the Analytics page > Budget tab.

What's next?

Once Commitments have been created. You can begin monitoring your project budget from the Analytics page.

Users can begin creating Commitment Payments and Commitment Change Orders.
